Listed below are books and newsletters that I recommend, or which have been recommended by subscribers.  The format is to first show the link to where you can buy or subscribe, followed with a description of the item.

NOTE OWNER’S MANUAL — This is a manual that is published by CA$H NOW Financial Corporation as a consumer information manual to be read by persons currently receiving payments on a real estate note or who are contemplating selling a property using Seller Financing.  It is FREE! Just click on the link and download in pdf format. (Because it is in pdf format, if you use Amazon’s Kindle technology, you can save it and then email to any Kindle compatible reading device for more convenient reading–and it will be text-to-voice enabled so you can use it as an audio book!)  I recommend that you print this out, or forward the link, to past clients that you have represented in Seller Financed transactions, or current clients who are considering selling their property using Seller Financing.

FINANCING OUT$IDE THE BOX This is  a booklet that provides an introduction to the concepts of Creative Finance. It is FREE! Just click on the link and download in pdf format. (Because it is in pdf format, if you use Amazon’s Kindle technology, you can save it and then email to any Kindle compatible reading device for more convenient reading–and it will be text-to-voice enabled so you can use it as an audio book!)  I recommend that if you are new to the concepts of Creative Real Estate, that you read this book first.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU SPEND MONEYThis link will take you to John T. Reed’s rating of many of the popular Real Estate Gurus who teach courses, sell books, tapes and other products.  I don’t personally know John, but I have read several of his books which lead me to believe that he is a smart guy.  I also don’t know many of the gurus that he rates.  However, of the ones I do know, I generally agree with his ratings –with one exception.  I think Rich Dad–Poor Dad is one of the best books on entrepreneurship ever written, and he hates it.  These ratings are John’s personal opinions, but I would give them serious consideration before you open your wallet.

OWNER WILL CARRY This is one of the books that I recommend in the “Get Started” section of this website.  It provides detailed instructions on how to use Seller Financing which is one of the more important techniques in Creative Real Estate.  It also includes a CD with usefull legal forms and an amortization calculator for Step Mortgages.  You can down load an e-book version at www.papersourceonline.com/e-books-more/owner-will-carry/This is an important book that should be a permanent part of your library.

HOW TO FINANCE ANY REAL ESTATE, ANY PLACE, ANY TIME This is another book that I recommend in the “Get Started” section of this website.  It outlines and explains over 40 techniques commonly used in Creative Real Estate. You can download an e-book version at http://www.amazon.com. This is another important book that should be a permanent part of your library.

RICH DAD, POOR DAD — This book is not about real estate.  Rather it is a book that examines the thinking that differentiates entrepreneurs and business people from employees.  Since Creative Real Estate is a truly entrepreneurial activity, I recommend this book to get you in the right frame of mind for success.  In fact, I recommend this book for anyone interested in successful investing or starting a business. Kiyosaki has also written a number of other great books on entreneurship and investing.  His major contribution to real estate is the book entitled, Real Book of Real Estate, which was co-written with “22 of his trusted real estate experts“.  I haven’t met all 22, but I have had seminars from three of them and theyy were all top notch!

EQUITY HAPPENS This is a book on investing written by “The Real Estate Guys“–Robert Helms and Russell Gray.  It is one of my favorites because it doesn’t over simplify the issue and doesn’t ignore risks.  It is clearly written with a number of good examples of actual transactions. Everyone interested in real estate investing should read this book.

JOHN T. REED –John has written a number of good real estate books and also publishes an intellectual real estate newsletter.  Although real estate his his main topic, he writes on other subjects.  One of his recent book that I enjoyed is entitled Succeeding and is a useful book about getting ahead in life.  Some of John’s books should be part of your library.

JOHN SCHAUB –John publishes a monthly email newsletter and has written several good books on real estate investing.  I consider his book Building Wealth One House at a Time to be a classic, that should be owned by anyone investing in single family homes or who works with home investors.

FIXER JAYJay publishes a monthly newsletter and has written several good books.  His specialty is management and buying and fixing-up properties.  Anyone involved in fixer-uppers or who works with re-habbers will be interested in Jay’s books.
